Fostering Unity in the Global Spice Trade Amid Uncertainty

 IPC  07/06/2025  941

On 6 June 2025, a hybrid meeting of the International Organizations of Spices Trade Associations (IOSTA) convened key stakeholders from the global spice industry to exchange views on pressing challenges, including tariff tensions and ongoing collaborative programmes.

The meeting, moderated by Ms. Laura Shumow, Executive Director of the American Spice Trade Association (ASTA), served as a valuable platform for dialogue and alignment. Representing the International Pepper Community (IPC), Executive Director Ms. Marina Novira Anggraini shared updates on the IPC Standard Specification of Pepper as well as broader developments from the community.

In times of global trade uncertainty, the need for coordinated strategies and a unified voice for the spice industry becomes increasingly critical. IPC remains committed to strengthening cross-organizational cooperation, promoting harmonization of standards, and advancing sustainable growth for the benefit of spice-producing countries.

Together, we build resilience through collaboration.

Stronger connections, smarter trade.
