IPC GMP Book to be printed in different language of IPC member countries

During the 23rd Meeting of IPC Committee on Quality held in Jakarta on 24th - 25th March 2017 while discussing the needs to disseminate the newly published IPC Book on Good Manufacturing Practices (GMP) for Pepper to pepper farmers, agricultural officers and local traders in providing them a guidelines for producing the good quality pepper, the meeting decided that the GMP book are to be translated and printed in local language.

The IPC Book on Good Manufacturing Practices was published in November 2016 in English and was officially launched at the Special Session of IPC held in Jakarta on 10th - 11th January 2017 are expected to be made available in different language of IPC member countries in the near future.

The book which was edited by Mr. WDL Gunaratne, former Executive Director of IPC and expert members of IPC Committee on Quality namely KRK Menon and T.V. Zavier of India, Chandrini Dewi and Dyah Palupi of Indonesia, Zehnder Jarroop of Malaysia and T. Liyanage of Sri Lanka emphasizes the critical point of contamination of pepper during the process of harvesting, processing, storage and also practices to be adopted to avoid or minimize contamination.

Copy of the IPC Good Manufacturing Practices for Pepper is available with the IPC Secretariat, Jakarta and can be obtained on request at a nominal cost.
