
In a world that never stops evolving, innovation lights the path forward. On 28 October 2025, the 47th Pepper Tech Meeting took place in Kochi, India, as part of the 53rd Annual Session of the International Pepper Community (IPC). The event brought together some of the brightest minds in research and technology who shared discoveries that are transforming the global pepper industry.
Carrying the theme “Technology as an Equalizer in a Fragmented Trade World,” the meeting became a dynamic space where ideas met science and collaboration fostered progress. Experts explored topics such as climate-smart cultivation, next-generation crop protection, residue-free production, and affordable technologies for sustainable water and fertilizer management, revealing how knowledge and innovation can unite diverse players in global trade.
Among the distinguished speakers were Dr. Santhosh J. Eapen, formerly with ICAR–IISR; Dr. Murukesan Krishnapillai of the College of Micronesia; Dr. Sunil Tamgale of the International Pepper League; Mr. Prasobh S. Prasad of Mane Kancor Ingredients Pvt. Ltd; Mr. Pradeep Shrivastava of YES BANK; and Dr. Mini Raj of Kerala Agricultural University. Their insights reflected decades of dedication to research, innovation, and excellence in the spice world.
From laboratories to plantations and from data to decisions, the International Pepper Community continues to connect technology with cultivation while nurturing a more resilient, inclusive, and sustainable future for the world’s most beloved spice.
