PEPPER MARKET CONTINUES IN BEARISH TERRITORY FOR 3RD QUARTER OF 2022

 IPC  25/07/2022  2906
"The current pepper market continues to be in a bearish territory for 3rd Quarter of 2022 as the world grapples with demand erosion in 2022 due to deficit changing to surplus inventory, depreciating currencies, inflation and low consumer appetite. China has returned to market but may not be enough to cheer markets as Brazil and Indonesia is entering harvest season for 2022. The International Pepper Community expects the pepper markets to stabilize and will firm up in November and December 2022." Those were some of the key takeaways of the presentation given by Ms. Firna Azura Ekaputri Hj. Marzuki, the Executive Director of the International Pepper Community.

Ms. Firna was invited as a guest speaker for the course on the Global Business Economics for the Faculty of Economics and Business, University of Malaysia Sarawak (UNIMAS). Ms. Firna delivered on a topic of Globalization & World Pepper Industry 2021/2022 to 21 PhD by Coursework students who were attending the talk. The lecture presented in a very informative way provided with the current statistic and policies of the world pepper economy. The session was broadcasted virtually through zoom application on 24 July 2022 (Sunday), 2.30 pm – 4.00 pm (Jakarta time). IPC is looking forward to collaborating with more private sectors including the higher learning institutes to share insights and discuss on opportunities and way forward for the betterment of the global pepper industry.
