Spices turned hot in 2010 on short supply
(The Hindu Business Line) Unfavourable weather conditions, be it rains or winter were extreme last year, affecting several spices crops in different producing countries, including India. This phenomenon has resulted in their short supply and consequently pushed their prices up. Some of such spices whose prices shot up in 2010 are cardamom both small and large, turmeric, cumin, garlic, pepper, cloves, poppy seeds, cinnamon and mint products.
