Pepper consumption has risen by 60 per cent around the world in 10 years. Surge in demand has been strongest in the Far East, rising by 200 per cent. The wholesale price of the condiment has been pushed up by 310 per cent. Fears supermarket could soon be passing rise onto shoppers
