[June 2025] Executive Director's Message

 IPC  25/07/2025  141
Dear Valued Members, Partners, and Friends of the International Pepper Community (IPC)

It is with deep honour and a profound sense of responsibility that I begin my tenure as Executive Director of the IPC. I extend my sincere appreciation to all IPC Member Countries for the trust and confidence placed in me at a time when global challenges require renewed commitment, creativity, and cooperation.

The pepper industry today stands at a unique crossroads, facing evolving trade dynamics, climate uncertainty, shifting consumer preferences, and technological transformation. In such an environment, the IPC’s role as a platform for dialogue, coordination, and shared progress is more relevant than ever.

Throughout its history, IPC has been a steadfast advocate for the interests of the global pepper sector, from supporting farmers and strengthening market transparency to advancing sustainability and regional cooperation. I am fully committed to preserving this legacy while ensuring IPC remains agile, inclusive, and forward-looking.

As Executive Director, my vision is to deepen collaboration among member countries, empower our stakeholders with knowledge and innovation, and amplify the voice of pepper producers in global trade discussions. This means creating space for more inclusive engagement, listening to the needs of smallholders, understanding the concerns of exporters, embracing digital solutions, and working hand in hand with the private sector, research institutions, and international partners.

I would also like to acknowledge and thank my predecessor, Ms. Firna Azura Ekaputri Hj Marzuki, whose leadership over the past four years has brought meaningful progress to the Community. Her dedication has laid a strong foundation on which we can continue to build.

To all who are part of this vibrant and diverse sector, be it in the fields, the labs, the markets, or the ministries, I invite you to join hands with IPC in shaping a more resilient and prosperous future for pepper. Let us build an industry that not only thrives economically but also uplifts communities and contributes to sustainable development.

The journey ahead is one of shared responsibility. I welcome your ideas, partnership, and constructive engagement. Together, we can unlock the full potential of the pepper industry. Please feel free to connect with me directly at ed@ipcnet.org.

With warm regards and steadfast commitment,

Marina Novira Anggraini
Executive Director of IPC
