The Special Session considered important issues related to review of the Agreement Establishing the International Pepper Community, Rules of Procedures of the IPC and other related regulations; membership of the IPC; application for associate membership from the Philippines etc.

The Special Session further ratified the appointment of Mdm. Hoang Thi Lien of Viet Nam as the new Executive Director of the International Pepper Community who is successor of Mr. WDL Gunaratne of Sri Lanka. The Special Session also decided that the Government of Malaysia will be invited to nominate the candidates for Economist.
